A Belt

Someone recently asked what my current belt setup looks like. Here it is.

This is a Blade Tech Velocity Comp belt. I chose this because meme belts like the GBRS and AXL didn’t exist at the time of purchase and anything larger than a competition style belt was overkill for anything I’m doing. I already wear an inner velcro belt every day so this is something I can throw on literally anytime. I’ve used padded warbelts and every other style of belt on the market and I keep coming back to stuff like this.
If I need to bring anything with me that isn’t on the belt I typically don’t carry it there, there’s probably a better way of doing it. I like to keep it as slick and lean as possible. I also have an ESSTAC belt that is setup identically for use in Cryes.
I would recommend the True North drop to anyone not already invested in a holster/accessory mounting system. It wasn’t an improvement over my previous Safarkiland drop+ G Code Wheel. I like to cant the holster slightly forward, it’s a convenient angle for the way I draw the pistol.
T-Rex Arms with QLS plate and Armiger Solutions with G Code RTI plate. I needed a new holster for a class at DARC and they were the only people with something in stock. It fulfils it’s obligation as a kydex holster and has not given me any issues. The Armiger kydex lasted me over a decade and it held up great.
Esstac adjustable kywis and a safariland rifle mag carrier. I prefer to have my mags slightly angled back like the gamers do it, I tend to swipe for the reload. I keep them closer to the centerline of my body and the angle helps clear them of any danglers I’m running.
Blue Force Gear MARCO. There’s a lot more to using chemlights/signalling than having a few reds, but when tiny amounts of ambient light are needed for NVGs I’ll drop some.
This was a gift from my friend Corey, I run this over the belt when I want to augment the belt without hanging lots of shit off of it. Lube, hand tools, etc.
